Absolutely I can! Where should I send the invoice to for the retainer to hold the date and time for your session? If paying by credit or debit, your session date and time will be reserved immediately. If paying by check or cash, your date will be tentatively held for one week until the deposit is received.
I completely understand your question, however, I do not allow that. My client’s come to me because I have a specific style of editing. To release my photos to someone else to edit, would be a false representation of my work.
When I go through all the images from my sessions, I pick out and edit the best of the best. This specific pose may have made you look uncomfortable, the lighting may have changed, someone blinked, someone moved, etc
I think you might be confused with the term print release. Absolutely you can have a print release. That will allow you to take your images to any print lab to have them printed. A copyright release means that I would be releasing ownership of the work that I created. All images taken by me, I own, and I do not let clients make money off of the art I create. However, special cases are allowed for a fee, and we can definitely talk about that in further detail.
As soon as I upload the images from sessions, I will go through and look at every single one, and only keep the best of the best. I do take multiple photos of the same pose because there are a lot of variants that can change in a split second. Someone might have blinked or moved. If we were outside, a bug may have flown into the shot. With kids they tend to move around a lot. Therefore, there may only be one image pulled from that set.
I require a contract to be sign because it covers both you and I, in the event that something unfortunate happens. Such as, if my equipment malfunctions, if there is a natural disaster that is neither under yours or my control, or if there was a miscommunication between myself and you as the client, a contract is more so a binding and reiteration of my process.
A retainer or a deposit, assures that you have your date and time with me confirmed, and will not be booked with another client.
Photoshop is meant for major photo manipulations, however, you are perfect the way that you are. I will not manipulate your image to turn you into something you are not. However I am really good at posing. Look at my edits first, and well go from there.
No, I can not lower my price or price match with other photographers. My pricing structure is unique to me and my business, just the same as his pricing structure is unique to him. My session prices are in place to reflect the cost of my time spent with sessions, as well as my editing time, travel time, and all other factors that go into the cost of business.
I realize that life happens, but unfortunately no I can not. Specific time slots are in place for my sessions due to other sessions I may need to get to, as well as my personal events or functions.
No, I am sorry. The contract that you signed states that you would be paying me for this allotted time. I have turned away other commissions because of your time slot.
I will not do this. My watermark on my social media images represents my brand and my business. It is unique to me, therefore preventing individuals from stealing my work. Also a watermark is a simple marketing trick for clients and potential clients to recognize a familiar brand, quickly.
That is awesome! However, no I am afraid not. Our target markets are not exactly the same, nor are they all local. That would not help me to book sessions at all. As well as I do have bills to pay with my sessions, and doing a trade with you, does not guarantee that I would get bookings. Also, it never hurts to ask, once, kindly.
I know that you are super excited to post images of the session, but I really need the subject to focus on me and my process so that I can capture their true self and deliver impeccable images to mom (or whoever) who is paying me.
I am more than happy to take a look and see what we can do that is similar, as long as it is within my style and brand.
Well no. When you upload the images that I took to Instagram, it is already cropping the image and destroying the quality. Then adding their filter over the image is destroying the quality even more. As well as giving potential clients a false representation of my final product. Also in our contract, it is stated that you agreed not to alter the images delivered to you, in any shape or form.
Thank you so much for reaching out! I am so sorry to hear that you were without the internet. Unfortunately, my spots are filled and my sale is over. I would be happy to keep you in the loop the next time I run a sale on!
As much as I would love to do that today, I am afraid we can’t. That is an entirely different process, as well as a different cost, and time frame. As soon as we are done here, I would be more than happy to schedule that type of session for you.
Thank you so much for thinking of me to do this, but I really do have to decline. My process is a bit more complicated than taking a couple snap shots. And I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to taking pictures.
